DONATIONS Because we are not a government agency, we rely on the generous gifts of the American people to enable us to continue our humanitarian mission. There are several options available for those wishing to make donations: A check, made out to the Anderson County Chapter - American Red Cross. This is the best way to support the many vital programs and services in the Anderson and Freestone area. A check intended specifically for a national disaster or international disaster may be sent to the Anderson Chapter. Please make a note in the memo area of your check for which disaster you wish the donation to go to.

NOTE: - During time of disaster, we do not accept collections of food or clothing, unless announced.

The Anderson County Chapter needs volunteers! The following is a list of volunteer opportunities through our Chapter.

Disaster Preparedness and Relief- Volunteers are needed to respond to local and regional disasters as well as plan our response.

Volunteers are also needed to conduct talks about disaster planning to local groups.

Instructors- Volunteers are needed to teach First Aid and CPR, Swimming and Lifeguarding, Disaster preparedness courses, and much more.

Hospital Volunteers- Volunteers are needed to serve at the Palestine Regional Medical Center in Palestine, Texas. Volunteers work with patients, their families and Hospital staff to try and make the patient's staff as pleasant as possible. Volunteers also manage the information desk Monday through Friday from 8:00 a.m. to 4:00 p.m.

Support Services- Volunteers are needed to help in the Chapter on a daily basis. They will help in answering the telephone, data entry, direct services and other opportunities as they arise.
