Adult CPR (3212) This 4 hour course will teach you how to perform rescue breathing, the obstructed airway maneuver, and cardiopulmonary resuscitation techniques for an adult victim. The students will practice on manikins. Course Fee: call Certification: Valid 1 year Class Hours: call Community CPR (3213) This 6.5 hour course teaches participants how to perform rescue breathing, the obstructed airway maneuver, and cardiopulmonary resuscitation for adults, children and infants. The students will practice on manikins. Course Fees: call Certification Valid 1 year Class Hour: call Standard First Aid (3207) This 6.5 hour course combines the life-saving skill of cardiopulmonary resuscitation and first aid. Participants will learn rescue breathing, the obstructed airway maneuver, and CPR for adults. As well, they will be instructed in treatment of broken bones, bleeding, burns and shock. The students will practice on manikins. Participants learn to recognize and attend to respiratory or cardiac problems, sudden illnesses, and injuries to adults, children and infants. CPR instruction is included in this training. Students will practice on manikins. Community Water Safety (3464) This course will teach you to recognize and prevent aquatic emergencies, understand what to do in an aquatic emergency and understand self-help skills for aquatic emergencies. Course Fees: call Certification: Community Water Safety Call for class dates CHILD CARE TRAINING - 15 HOURS For day care providers. Meets all State requirements. 2. Infant - Child CPR , Pediatric First Aid and Preventive Health Practices Call the chapter for dates and time of upcoming training LIFEGUARD TRAINING/CPR FOR THE PROFESSIONAL RESCUER This course provides comprehensive training for those 15 years or older, who wish to become a Lifeguard at a swimming pool. This course will teach the following items: 1. The value of behaving in a professional manner. 2.How to recognize specific characteristic behaviors of a distressed swimmer, active and passive drowning victims. 3. Recognize an aquatic emergency and act promptly and appropriately. 4. Perform equipment based rescue skills and techniques used by professional lifeguards. 5. Learn how to provide First Aid and CPR for the Professional Rescuer in an emergency. Prerequisites: - 15 years of age before end of course. - Swim 500 yards continuously, using each of the following strokes for at least 100 yards each: Crawl, Breaststroke and Side stroke. For the remaining 200 yards, you may use any stroke. Surface dive to a minimum dept. of 7 feet and retrieve a ten- pound diving brick to the surface. Tread water for 2 minutes, using legs only. Participants must cross their arms across their chest (WSI) WATER SAFETY INSTRUCTOR This course is for individuals who would like to be trained to provide swimming instructions. The course will train instructor candidates to teach the Infant and Preschool Aquatics Program; the seven levels of Learn to Swim Program; the Community Water Safety and Water Safety Instructor Aid courses. PREREQUISITES: - MINIMUM AGE OF 17 ( by the end of the course ) - Successfully complete pre-course session, consisting of tests of water safety and swimming skills and knowledge. - Posses an Instructor Candidate Training certificate: (Cert.3007) This course will be included in your (WSI) Water Safety Instructor training.
